Arizona Community Doula Collective was created from a shared vision: that everyone deserves compassionate, grounded support through all of life’s reproductive transitions and that no one should face those moments alone.

The Heart Behind the Work

Our Approach

We are a growing network of doulas from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and communities across Arizona.

Together, we are restoring the tradition of collective care by offering sliding scale support for birth, postpartum, loss, and more. We mentor new doulas, partner with local organizations, and center equity in every part of our work.

Our Impact

Empowering Families through Birth and Postpartum Support

Arizona Community Doula Collective is a nonprofit organization that offers free and sliding scale, full spectrum doula services including birth and postpartum support, doula trainings, and free community classes.

Our team of dedicated doulas is committed to providing compassionate and personalized care to families in Arizona. We are here to support you every step of the way on your unique journey to parenthood

What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a statewide movement of care.

  • Over 41 families supported with full-spectrum doula care

  • Trained and mentored 35 community-based doulas

  • Hosted free community classes across Arizona on pregnancy, parenting, and postpartum wellness

  • Partnered with clinics, hospitals, and nonprofits to expand doula care

  • Made doula support accessible through sliding scale and fully covered services

Every story matters. Every birth matters. And every act of support brings us closer to a future where all families are held with care and dignity.

The Hands Behind The Art

Stephanie Guillermina Castro
The artist behind our logo, website, and artwork.

Stephanie Guillermina Castro, known as Castro among her peers, is a first-generation Queer woman Indigenous to South America. A multidisciplinary artist, full-spectrum doula, and community organizer, Castro’s work weaves together creative storytelling, birth justice, ancestral knowledge, and land-based healing.

Trained and certified through Ancient Song Doula Services in Brooklyn, NY in 2017, Castro offers culturally rooted, holistic care across the reproductive journey, including fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, abortion, loss, and womb wellness. Her doula practice is deeply informed by her artistry and her connection to ceremony, land, and community.

As an artist, Castro is guided by her ancestors in the practices of painting, graphic art, poetry, performance, and event curation. She explores narratives of indigeneity, spirituality, intergenerational trauma, colonization, and gender and sexuality, while uplifting the myths, beauty, and resilience of her peoples.

Raised between New York, Colombia, and Chile and now based in Phoenix, Castro moves through her roles as both artist and doula with deep gratitude for her ancestors, whose wisdom and protection guide her path.

Find her on Instagram @girasol.del.sur, where you can follow her journey and reach out for doula or art services.
